PostFinder lists places where you can send, collect and post things in Australia. This page says where that information comes from and what you can expect of it.

Where the information comes from
Every location on this site is assembled from open data and from lists the operators publish themselves. Nothing here is our own survey.
- OpenStreetMap (Open Database Licence (ODbL))
- Most of the locations on this site: post offices, parcel lockers, posting boxes and courier counters, with their coordinates and, where a mapper has added them, opening hours.© OpenStreetMap contributors.
- GeoNames (CC BY 4.0)
- The places themselves: countries, states and territories, suburbs and towns, and the names and coordinates that let a location be filed under the right one.
- G-NAF Core (CC BY 4.0)
- Australian street addresses, matched to a location so a page can show a street and number rather than only a suburb.Incorporates or develops data © Geoscape Australia licensed by the Commonwealth of Australia.
- Carrier and operator listings (Used as published by each operator)
- Where a postal or courier company publishes its own list of locations, such as Australia Post, we read it for opening hours, services and the details that only the operator knows. Each listing stays credited to the company that publishes it.
- PostFinder visitors (CC BY 4.0)
- Places people tell us are missing and corrections to places we list, each checked by a person before it appears, and kept when a source is imported again.
How accurate it is
Opening hours, services and addresses change, and our copy of them is only as fresh as the last time the source was read. A counter inside a newsagency keeps the newsagency's hours, a post office can close for a public holiday that no feed mentions, and a location that has shut may sit in open data for months.
So treat what you read here as a starting point. If a trip depends on it, confirm the details with the operator before you travel, especially on a public holiday or close to closing time. Our guides say the same thing at more length.

The site is provided as is
PostFinder is offered free of charge and as is. We cannot guarantee that the information is accurate, complete or current, and we give no warranty beyond the ones that cannot be excluded. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
We are nobody's partner
PostFinder is an independent directory. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any postal or courier company listed on it. Company names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to say whose location a page describes.
What you can do with the data
The underlying data stays under the licences above, so reuse and redistribution follow those licences rather than anything we could grant. Credit OpenStreetMap contributors and share alike under the ODbL, credit GeoNames and Geoscape Australia under CC BY 4.0. Our own writing, such as the guides and this page, is ours.
Search engines, AI assistants and other crawlers are welcome, and automated access is fine within what robots.txt allows. Please keep the request rate reasonable: this runs on one small server.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that follows from relying on this site, including a wasted trip, a missed collection deadline or a parcel that went to the wrong counter.
Something wrong on a page
If a location is wrong, closed or missing, the fix usually belongs upstream. Locations that came from OpenStreetMap can be corrected by anyone through OpenStreetMap itself, and the correction reaches this site on the next update. Details a carrier publishes are best corrected with that carrier.

These terms and the source list change as the site does. The date above says when they were last reviewed.
